Webb City, Mo., June 21- Funeral services for Mrs. Susanna Jane Smelser, 72 years old, who died Monday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs Doldie Clubb (my note, Doldie is a misprint, it should read Goldie) of Webb City, will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at the Oakside church in Mountain View. The Rev. Albert Pyle will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery inder the direction of the Johnson-Arnce-Simpson mortuary.

Obit dated 15 Aug 1907: Sister Sarah Smelser died Sun Aug 11, daughter of Dr. William A. Brooks who was postmaster at Pleasant Grove for 22yrs, Wife of Rev Houston H Smelser. Mother of Rev's Willie and Newton Smelser, both Baptist preachers. Funeral Monday 12 Aug at Brooks Cemetary with services by pastor of Missionary Baptist Church of Grandin.
